The Library Woman Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Christmas Book Quest, a holiday reading initiative designed to encourage young readers to engage deeply with literature during the Christmas break.
This year’s Book Quest brings together fifteen selected students from five secondary schools across two states, alongside one independent participant, from an initial pool of applications, for a carefully curated reading experience. Over the course of the holiday, participants will read four selected books, reflect on their learning, and prepare for an examination scheduled for January 2026.
Each selected student received a specially prepared reading pack containing printed books, a digital text, and learning materials to support their reading journey. Beyond the competition, the Book Quest aims to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and a lasting love for reading.
At the end of the programme, students will be assessed through a structured examination, with three prize winners emerging. However, every participant is already considered a winner for earning a place in the Book Quest and committing to the challenge of reading and learning during the holiday season.
The 2025 Christmas Book Quest is made possible through the generous support of our volunteers, reviewers, the support of teachers from participating schools, and Friends of the Library Woman Foundation, whose contributions continue to empower our young readers and strengthen literacy efforts in our communities.
As the holiday unfolds, we may share selected behind-the-scenes moments, reading reflections, and highlights from the journey on our website and social media platforms.
We invite you to follow along as these young readers turn pages, explore new ideas, and rise to the challenge.
Empowering Communities; one book, one young mind at a time.
